# WiMap — Fiber & Wireless Network Planning

> Map-based network planning tool for wireless link feasibility, fiber plant design, bills of quantities and PDF engineering reports.

Website: https://map.wi.tr · Developed / operated by: Internetten Teknoloji San. Tic. Ltd. Şti. · Status: Beta

Will this wireless link work? How much cable, how many splice closures and what duct layout does this fiber route need? For ISPs, field teams and infrastructure planners, answering that before anyone goes to site takes a lot of time. WiMap is a fiber and wireless planning tool that answers these questions on the map, with terrain elevation taken into account.

In one project you draw PTP and PTMP links, check coverage and RSSI heat maps, and run Fresnel and line-of-sight analysis. On the fiber side you lay out nodes, ducts and cables and match fiber cores inside splice closures. When the design is finished, the bill of quantities, material list and PDF engineering report are ready.

Design, equipment planning and tracking for GPON, XPON and PON networks are among WiMap's focus areas. A GPON/Fiber module covering OLT, splitter and ONU layout and the optical power budget is coming soon. WiMap is in beta and runs in the browser with a wi.tr account.

## Key features

- **Wireless link planning**: Draw PTP and PTMP links on the map and check signal spread on coverage and RSSI heat maps.
- **Fresnel & LOS analysis**: Checks line of sight and the Fresnel zone against SRTM terrain data and returns a feasibility result with engineering recommendations.
- **Physical plant layer**: Model the node, duct and cable hierarchy and match fiber cores in splice closures inside the project.
- **BOQ & bill of materials**: The bill of quantities (BOQ) and bill of materials (BOM) are generated from your drawing.
- **GPON design (coming soon)**: The module will add OLT → splitter → ONU design, optical power budget, fiber colour and tube schemes, and segment management.
- **Reports & KMZ**: Export the design as a PDF engineering report and import or export KMZ files.

## Frequently asked questions

### Who is WiMap built for?

ISPs building wireless and fiber networks, field and project teams, and infrastructure contractors. Public bodies and industrial sites planning their own campus or facility network can use it too.

### What do I need to use WiMap?

A browser and a wi.tr account. You sign in at map.wi.tr. WiMap is in beta, so some modules are still being built.

### How is wireless link feasibility assessed?

WiMap checks line of sight and the Fresnel zone between two points against SRTM terrain elevation data. You get a feasibility result, engineering recommendations and coverage and RSSI heat maps. SRTM has no buildings or trees in it, so critical links should still be verified on site.

### Can I design GPON networks?

Not yet. The GPON/Fiber module, with OLT → splitter → ONU design, optical power budget, fiber colour and tube schemes and segment management, is coming soon. Today you can design the node, duct, cable and splice closure layer of a fiber project and get the bill of quantities and material list.

### What outputs can I get from a design?

A bill of quantities (BOQ), bill of materials (BOM) and PDF engineering report. KMZ import brings existing routes into a project, and KMZ export lets you open the design in other mapping tools.

### Where can I source the equipment for my planned network?

Through wi.com.tr. It sells the V-SOL, MikroTik, Ubiquiti and RF Elements products that Internetten Teknoloji distributes, plus the group's own WINET brand. Our technical team can help with your project.
