netElastic software runs carrier-grade BNG, CGNAT and routing on standard x86 servers.
netElastic is based in Santa Clara, in California's Silicon Valley, and develops high-performance routing software for service providers. Its software runs as a carrier-grade BNG, CGNAT or router on standard x86 servers. The company says its vBNG and CGNAT products are used by hundreds of ISPs worldwide, from regional providers to Tier 1 carriers.
A BNG (Broadband Network Gateway) is the critical point in the network that terminates subscriber sessions, authenticates them over RADIUS and applies speed profiles. netElastic vBNG does this in software on a server instead of dedicated hardware. It can start at 2 × 10 Gbps and grow through licences as demand rises. The vendor cites near line-rate performance on 10, 40 and 100G interfaces and up to 1 Tbps throughput on a 2U server. CGNAT reduces the number of IPv4 addresses you need, and netVision Manager provides web-based management and monitoring.

What is a vBNG and how does it compare with a hardware BNG?
A vBNG is the BNG function, terminating subscriber sessions, delivered as software on standard x86 servers instead of dedicated hardware. You can buy hardware from different suppliers, add capacity step by step through licences and design redundancy more flexibly.
What server hardware is required?
A standard x86 server. CPU, memory and network cards are chosen based on subscriber count and target throughput. We can help size it against the vendor's supported hardware.
How does licensing work?
Subscriber capacity, interface speed and features are licensed separately. On wi.com.tr, Virtual Router/BNG licences are listed for 2,000, 8,000, 16,000, 32,000 and 64,000 subscribers, and interface licences from 10G to 200G. BNG, CGNAT and portal server are separate feature licences, and our team can help you pick the right combination.
Will it work with my existing RADIUS and subscriber management system?
Yes, if it is RADIUS-based, because the vBNG uses RADIUS for authentication and accounting. Vendor-specific attributes and speed profile mappings should be tested during rollout.
